Sheila Cox


Sheila is responsible for leading the strategic planning and operations for the company’s seven branch offices. Sheila has first-hand knowledge of successful branch operations as she began her career in 1994 as a temporary employee. She was then hired as a staffing manager before being promoted to Branch Manager of the Eugene/Springfield Branch in 1998. From 1998-2004, Sheila successfully led the Eugene/Springfield Branch in exceeding their sales projections.

In 2004 Sheila made the move to the corporate office where she was able to share her knowledge and passion for the staffing industry. She first focused on staff development before being promoted to VP of Operations in 2006. Sheila is results driven and takes great pride in the service that is provided to both employees and employers in the markets Selectemp serves. In 2015, Sheila was promoted to President. She works, daily, with the individual branches to ensure that they are as proficient and efficient as possible in exceeding the expectations of the people we serve.

Raised in Eugene, Sheila has always had a very strong sense of community and a desire to give back. In 1996 she joined the Eugene Active 20-30 Club, a club that serves and raises funds for the special needs of children in the community. Sheila served on the Active 20-30 Club’s board for over two years before becoming an Officer of the Eugene Club from 2003-2005 and then received her past-active life status in 2008.

Sheila currently sits on the Eugene Active 20-30 Foundation Board – This is an arm of the Active 20-30 Club that plays a critical role in large, tax-deductible, donations to the club to continue serving the special needs of children in our community. Sheila also sits on the Development Committee for Lane County CASA, an organization that provides a voice to children in the foster system.


Cary Kuvaas

Development Director

Cary has been in the staffing industry for 22 years. Building relationships with both our clients and our contingent workforce is what drives Cary. She thrives on the fact that those relationships lead to increased and efficient productivity for our customers and to job fulfillment for our employees.

Cary is responsible for the training, growing, and development of staff as well as assisting with the hiring and onboarding processes and providing advanced learning opportunities. She has an ability to bring our core values into our operating procedures and impacts all of our staff while ensuring their success in their respective roles. Her passion for the industry and Selectemp is shared with all while instilling culture and sharing knowledge with new hires as well as seasoned staff.

Cary believes in giving back to the community and has done so by involving herself in many extracurricular activities over the last 28 years such as coaching basketball and soccer, volunteering at schools, and volunteering with NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction).

As a member of NAWIC for 18+ years, she has served on the Board, as the Treasurer and is currently serving her second year as Vice President. Cary has been recognized as “Member of the Year” for her local chapter and nationally as “Women in Construction (WIC) of the Year”.


Annalise Burrington

Brand Sales Director, Eugene/Springfield

Annalise started her career as a Human Resources/Safety Manager for an electronics company in Eugene that manufactured custom computer cables. She then opened & managed a staffing agency branch office in Vancouver, Washington for nine years.

After moving back to Eugene several years ago, she worked as the HR/Safety Manager for two local wood products manufacturers. In the fall of 2011, she got back into the staffing industry as Selectemp’s Eugene/Springfield Branch Manager.

Annalise was promoted to Brand Operations Director in January of 2017 and then moved into the Brand Sales Director position at the beginning of 2018. She continues to manage the Eugene/Springfield branch operations by keeping abreast of new laws and legislation regarding human resource issues.

Annalise has achieved her SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional) certification. She is a long time member of the Society for Human Resource Management and currently sits on the board of their Lane County chapter.

Annalise has been a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) since 2014. There are over 1,000 children living in foster care in Lane County. As a CASA, Annalise is highly trained to serve as a fact finder for the judge by researching the background of each case assigned to her. She speaks for children in the courtroom, representing the child’s best interests and works to move the child as quickly and effectively as possible through the system and into a safe, permanent home.



Shana Barrett

Brand Operator Director, Salem

Shana has been with Selectemp since 2009 when she began her career in the staffing and recruiting industry as a Staffing Manager. In 2014, she was promoted to Branch Operations Manager of the Salem office and took on the role of managing the Albany branch as well in 2017. Shana’s current role as Brand Operations Director focuses on implementing and maintaining operational strategies that ensure performance and growth in alignment with our culture.

Shana continues to directly manage the Salem and Albany branches while also fostering development and active learning throughout our team. Shana is passionate about building strong relationships with local businesses in the communities we serve.  

Prior to becoming a part of Selectemp, Shana worked for Red Lion Hotels for 16 years and held several positions with the last eight years of her tenure as the Director of Food and Beverage.

Shana was born and raised in Salem and has strong ties to the area. She continues to live in the Salem area with her husband, and she served on the parent leadership team of Sprague High School’s Dance Team for the four years her daughter was on the team. She was also a parent volunteer for the team working behind the scenes at all dance competitions and fundraisers. Shana has continued her role as Team Treasurer in the three years since her daughter’s graduation.


Kelly Muske

Branch Manager, Clackamas/Jantzen Beach

Kelly joined Selectemp, Jantzen Beach, in the fall of 2015 with a passion to build sales and people in the staffing industry.  Her expertise includes operations, new business development, sales and always delivering superior customer service.

Kelly started her career in sales in the early ‘90s as an independent consultant for a direct sales company. Within a few years, she had built a direct sales force that produced over a million dollars in sales. For 18 years, she continued to rank as a top seller in her company and developed top leaders within the organization as well. After 18 years of being an independent consultant, she went to the corporate side of direct sales. There she found herself as a Regional Sales Trainer for several top direct sales companies.  

In her free time she loves to spend time outdoors boating and camping with her husband, Duane.  Another favorite pastime is to spend quality time with her three beautiful grandchildren!


Lori Bullock

Southern Oregon Operations Manager

Lori began her staffing career in 2000 as a temporary employee with FlexForce Staffing, a division of Selectemp. She advanced through the ranks; starting as Front Desk Coordinator, moving into a Staffing Manager role, and eventually became the Branch Manager for Roseburg.

FlexForce was brought back under the Selectemp name several years later and now, over 18 years later, Lori is still very dedicated to her clients, staff, and candidates. In September 2017, she became the Southern Oregon Operations Manager and is responsible for leading the strategic planning and operations for the Roseburg and Medford branches. Her focus is, and will always be, to provide excellent service to all clients and candidates.

Lori has had the greatest pleasure working, and building relationships, with many different companies and industries throughout our communities. She has enjoyed long-term associations with many of our county’s largest employers. She looks forward to partnering with companies of all sizes and playing a strategic role in their success by matching talent with opportunity and providing qualified employees when they need it most.

Lori was raised in Roseburg and still resides there with her husband and two children. She is actively involved in the Home Builders Association (HBA) and Douglas County Safety Association (DCSA). She currently serves on the Board of Directors for HBA and is the past Program Chair and Membership Chair for DCSA. She is also very involved in a variety of other community organizations and endeavors.


Katie Merickel

Branch Manager, Bend

Katie has been leading our Bend branch since 2011 with sales, strategic planning, client retention and operations. She truly understands partnerships, communication, and what it takes to be successful. As an expert in business communications, Katie is able to engage people and make lasting relationships utilizing her strength of active listening and understanding different operating realities. Katie is a seasoned professional and strategist and takes pride in truly being present in all her interactions.

Starting in 2001, she supported 10 branches in the back office of a staffing company, handling claims, payroll, collections and special projects for the President of Scientific. After relocating to Central Oregon from California in 2004, she went into real estate and had a very successful sales career but needed balance. Selectemp was her true calling, and as the selling branch manager she has found her niche with operations and sales, networking, and growing market share.

Katie is involved with Central Oregon OSHA and serves on the committee; she was just named Co-Chair for the COSHA Construction Summit. She is very active in the community and volunteers with the school district, for local non-profits, and can be found coaching middle school girls basketball during winter seasons for BPRD at High Desert Middle School. Katie is very passionate about helping others with both personal and professional growth in the community and with family.

Her quality time is spent with her boyfriend and three children, she enjoys the outdoors and all of the seasons in Central Oregon.  She can be found playing in nature’s backyard… camping, fishing, hiking and always being active.
