Sheila Cox


Sheila is responsible for leading the strategic planning and operations for the company’s seven branch offices. Sheila has first-hand knowledge of successful branch operations as she began her career in 1994 as a temporary employee. She was then hired as a staffing manager before being promoted to Branch Manager of the Eugene/Springfield Branch in 1998. From 1998-2004, Sheila successfully led the Eugene/Springfield Branch in exceeding their sales projections.

In 2004 Sheila made the move to the corporate office where she was able to share her knowledge and passion for the staffing industry. She first focused on staff development before being promoted to VP of Operations in 2006. Sheila is results driven and takes great pride in the service that is provided to both employees and employers in the markets Selectemp serves. In 2015, Sheila was promoted to President. She works, daily, with the individual branches to ensure that they are as proficient and efficient as possible in exceeding the expectations of the people we serve.

Raised in Eugene, Sheila has always had a very strong sense of community and a desire to give back. In 1996 she joined the Eugene Active 20-30 Club, a club that serves and raises funds for the special needs of children in the community. Sheila served on the Active 20-30 Club’s board for over two years before becoming an Officer of the Eugene Club from 2003-2005 and then received her past-active life status in 2008.

Sheila currently sits on the Eugene Active 20-30 Foundation Board – This is an arm of the Active 20-30 Club that plays a critical role in large, tax-deductible, donations to the club to continue serving the special needs of children in our community. Sheila also sits on the Development Committee for Lane County CASA, an organization that provides a voice to children in the foster system.


Cary Kuvaas

VP, Sales

As Vice President of Sales, Cary Kuvaas is responsible for the planning and execution of creating and developing new business opportunities amongst the company’s seven branches. Cary has been in the staffing industry for 19 years, with the last 5 years being at Selectemp. Building relationships with both our clients and our contingent work force is what drives Cary. She thrives on the fact that those relationships lead to increased and efficient productivity for our customers, and to job fulfillment for our employees.

Cary believes in giving back to the community and has done so by involving herself in many extracurricular activities over the last 25 years such as coaching basketball and soccer, volunteering at schools, and volunteering with NAWIC. (National Association of Women in Construction). As a member of NAWIC for 15+ years, she has served on the Board, and is currently serving her third year as Treasurer. Cary has been recognized as “Member of the Year” for her local chapter and nationally as “Women in Construction (WIC) of the Year”.


Annalise Burrington

Branch Manager, Eugene/Springfield

Annalise started her career as a Human Resources/Safety Manager for an electronics company in Eugene that manufactured custom computer cables.

She then opened & managed a staffing agency branch office in Vancouver, Washington for 9 years. After moving back to Eugene several years ago, she worked as the HR/Safety Manager for two local wood products manufacturers. In the fall of 2011, she got back into the staffing industry as Selectemp’s Eugene/Springfield Branch Manager.

Annalise has achieved her SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification and SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional) certification. She is a long time member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is currently sits on the board of their Lane County chapter.

Annalise is also a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer for children in foster care.


Claudia Hamilton

Branch Manager, Albany/Corvallis

Claudia graduated from Southern Oregon University majoring in Communications and minoring in Business. She started her career as a District Cashier Trainer for Rite Aid in Southern Oregon. Claudia then worked for the State of Oregon in the Transportation Department and Selectemp Employment Services as a Staffing Manager before she moved into the promotional advertising sales industry for 11 years. After the 11 year hiatus from Selectemp, she then came back to the organization, opened and managed the FlexForce Branch for 6 years and has managed the Selectemp Albany Branch and has for more than 3 years.

Claudia is a member of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management). She currently holds a position on her local chapter board (Mid-Willamette Human Resource Management) along with a position on the local Oregon Employers Council board. She will be joining the Greater Corvallis Rotarian group in 2016.


Shana Barrett

Branch Manager, Salem

Branch Operations Manager of the Salem Branch. Shana has been with Selectemp since 2009 as a staffing manager and was promoted to Branch Operations Manager in 2014. Shana’s focus is on building strong relationships with local businesses in Salem and surrounding communities.
Shana was born and raised in Salem and has strong ties to the area. Shana continues to live in the Salem area with her husband and daughter. She has served on the parent leadership team of Sprague High School’s Dance Team for the past 4 years and is the acting Treasurer for the team as well as a parent volunteer for the team working behind the scenes at all dance competitions and fundraisers.

Prior to becoming a part of Selectemp, Shana worked for Red Lion Hotels for 16 years and held several positions within the hotel, with the last 8 years of her tenure as the Director of Food and Beverage.

Shana is a member of Chemeketa Career Services Advisory Committee and ITT Technical Institute Program Advisory Committee where her focus is to
locate talented individuals to match with local employers with opportunities.


Penny Brennan

Branch Manager, Medford

Penny started her staffing industry career with Kelly Services in San Francisco. Within her 7 year tenure at the company she worked her way from Front Desk Coordinator, to Staffing Manager, Account Representative, and eventually opened a second branch office in San Jose. She then became Regional Manager where she was responsible of implementing projects specific to the San Francisco Bay Area, working with 24 offices throughout that region.

After leaving Kelly Services she joined Westaff, headquartered in Walnut Creek, California and for 10 years managed nationwide staffing needs for Fortune 500 companies, as National Account Manager. Penny then followed her heart to Southern Oregon where for 5 years she telecommuted with Westaff and Managed the Special Projects division from Oregon.

In 2013 Penny once again found herself with an opportunity to join the staffing industry again with Selectemp Employment Services. They were looking for an experienced leader to enhance the business in Southern Oregon market and she fit the bill. She has enjoyed getting to know the industry once again from where she began, and has become an active member of Jackson County Home Builders Association, Redwood Safety Association and is serving as Board Member for SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) Rogue Valley Chapter.


Kelly Muske

Branch Manager, Clackamas/Portland

Kelly starter her career as an Independent consultant in the direct sales industry with a fast growing fashion company. Within just two years she was a top producing Sr. Executive Sales Manager with the company. Throughout those years Kelly was a consistent top seller and recruiter for the company, earning many awards and recognition for her performance. After 18 years in the field Kelly went on to become a Regional Sales Director at the corporate level for several top direct sales companies.

Kelly is excited to bring her experience in sales and management to the team. She has a passion for building people and building business!


Lori Bullock

Branch Manager, Roseburg

Lori joined Selectemp in 2000. She has over 15 years of experience in the staffing industry and 30 years of customer service and is responsible for new business development and operations. Her previous positions in the staffing industry include front desk coordinator, staffing manager, staffing for temporary and direct hires. She is dedicated and committed to her clients, staff and job seekers.

She has had the distinct pleasure of working and building relationships with many different companies throughout our community. One of the most rewarding aspects of her job is matching talent with opportunity. Raised in Roseburg, she currently resides here with her husband and two children. She is actively involved in the local Home Builders Association (HBA) and Douglas County Safety Association (DCSA) currently serving on the Board of Director for HBA and Membership Chair for DCSA, as well as other community involvement.


Katie Merickel

Branch Manager, Bend

Katie is a seasoned professional, leader and strategist. An expert in business communications, engaging people and making lasting connections and relationships.

With an extensive background in real estate and staffing, she knows what it takes to be successful in a very diverse and ever-changing market. Teamwork, trust and communication are key in implementing and achieving success. She is very passionate about helping others, personal growth, community and family. She believes in leading by example and setting solid foundations.

In her free time she coaches middle school basketball and volleyball, loves to spend time with her 3 amazing children, enjoys our beautiful outdoors and makes memories to last forever.
