Meet Anna!

Q: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
A: I was voted most likely to be a cat lady who works at Starbucks by my senior journalism class in high school. I am neither a barista or a cat lady, though I have dressed up as both for Halloween, so I guess that still counts!

Q: What is your favorite food? Why did you pick this as your favorite?
A: Definitely crème brûlée with a glass of chardonnay. Does this really need an explanation?

Q: If you could choose any animal to be, what would it be and why?
A: I would be a crow. They can fly, they have a huge support system, and they get to use their problem-solving skills on a daily basis. What could be better?

Q: What is your personal mantra?
A: “It’s probably fine.”

Q: If you could have dinner with any person from any time period, who would it be and why?
A: Family legend has it that my great, great, great grandfather gambled away a small family fortune. I wouldn’t mind meeting him and asking him how much of the story is true.

Q: What made you want to work where you’re at now?
A: Selectemp has a fantastic reputation! I asked around when I saw a Selectemp job posting and it turned out that I knew quite a few people who’d either worked with Selectemp or knew someone at Selectemp through community involvement endeavors. Everyone I talked to had nothing but great things to say, and I knew I had to be a part of this company.

Q: What’s unique about the culture at your company?
A: The leadership team at Selectemp is unlike any other I have ever encountered. They are each so incredibly passionate about what they do and about bringing out the very best in the people they lead. And because that passion is authentic, is also contagious. I don’t think there is a single person in our organization who does not care deeply about doing the right thing for our clients and employees. It’s a culture you can really buy into and believe in.

Q: What led you to a career in staffing?
A: I just finished my BS in HR Management in November. When I first started working on my degree back in 2017, I was working in a different industry and decided I wanted to find something more closely aligned with the direction I saw myself going in. I started looking for jobs in recruiting, found an ad for Selectemp and the rest was history!

Q: What have you gained from working where you’re at?
A: I have gained so much from working at Selectemp! Perhaps the greatest would be confidence and trust in myself. While we are always given all the tools and resources we need to be successful in our roles, it is very clear that it is up to us to drive our own outcomes. For me, this has meant making decisions or trying things without 100% knowing if I was doing the right thing, which can be super scary. But the more I do those things that make me uncomfortable, the more I fail and have to regroup and learn from that failure, the more I have the confidence to keep trying the next time. It’s an amazing feeling to walk in and go “No matter what, I can do this,” and I totally owe that to my experience at Selectemp.

We’ve developed a white-glove approach to staffing. Our focus is matching talent with opportunity while maintaining an emphasis on keeping it simple.
